MICHAEL C. PALMER
Michael C. Palmer, 52, a former Washington area resident and 1963 Falls Church High School graduate who was the postmaster of Baker, W.Va., died of cancer Jan. 5, 1998, at the University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. He lived in a Augusta, W.Va. Mr. Palmer, who was born in Hampton, Va., and grew up in the Washington area, attended the University of Richmond and Montgomery College. He served with the Marine Corps from 1963 to 1967, seeing action in Vietnam for which he received a Purple Heart. He joined the U.S. Postal Service when he moved to West Virginia in the mid-1970s.Survivors include his wife, Rose, of Augusta; a son, Noal, of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Darah Palmer of Wilmington, Del.; his parents, Carl B. and Jessamae Palmer of McLean; and a sister, Mary P. Field of Ashland, Va.
